My colleagues and I are proud to represent the most beautiful state in our country and are committed to promoting the best interests of the Golden State in our nation's capital.
As chair of the CDCD, I work closely with my California colleagues in D.C. to champion the values that matter to all Californians: making sure children have access to a quality education, protecting our environment, creating economic opportunities, promoting health care coverage for all, and ensuring that our homeland is safe from the threat of terrorism. A major mission is to shape the federal budget to reflect California's priorities.

California Democrats and Republicans Join In Calling For Risk and Need Based Security Funding
Washington, DC – This week, 39 California Congressional Delegation members, 24 Democrats and 15 Republicans, joined together in signing a letter to Secretary of Homeland Security Chertoff and Secretary of Commerce Gutierrez requesting that funding for the Public Safety Interoperable Communications Grant Program (PSIC) be allocated to states based solely on risk and need.

California Democratic Congressional Delegation Welcomes Bipartisan State Assembly Delegation
Washington, DC – The California Democratic Congressional Delegation (CDCD) today welcomed a bipartisan delegation of California state lawmakers to Washington, DC. The bipartisan delegation of state lawmakers, numbering more than 30, is led by California State Assembly Speaker Fabian Nunez. The state lawmakers are scheduled to meet with members of the California Congressional Delegation throughout the week to discuss federal funding and other legislative priorities for the state.
